And in a manner of speaking, if you take my meaning
These minor side effects are getting extreme
When you see trouble coming out in broad daylight
It don’t cast a shadow so it just can’t be real.

And who can complain about their own tribulations?
Who’s got opinions they just don’t believe?
These modern times demand the strictest attention
And don’t beg no questions the answer’s insane.

They don’t have to see, they have heard and believed
There’s heaven on top of, there is fire beneath
And once they’re convinced they will drop their suspense
And fall to whatever will be.

So who ever told you that you could do anything?
You’re bound to do something and that much is true
But don’t let it press another dismal indention
