Dumb It Down 03:06
Dumb it Down In the beginning there was a thought. My mind was bending it into the shape of a question mark. Are your eyes really windows to your heart? Are they just dancing around the room and looking out for your imaginary lover’s return Or are they looking for somebody to burn? Why don’t you dumb it down for me baby? Why don’t you dumb it down for me girl? ‘cause I can tell you now that baby, baby I want you. (bridge) And I want to see you and me alone at last And I want to see you and me alone at last And I want to see you and me getting somewhere fast. Make it last, make it last. So if you’re playing a little trick well, you can laugh but babe I’m telling you to make it quick ‘cause what I have to say aint funny a bit. No, no, no, no I’m not your flunky; I’m not your stooge I’m not some frat boy who’s just looking for somebody to do And I don’t have a single thing to prove. I’m gonna dumb it down for you baby? I’m gonna dumb it down for you girl? ‘cause it’s as simple as baby, baby I want you. And I want to see you…. ~solo~ You eyes are dancing around the room. They’re looking out for your imaginary lover’s return Well he aint coming and it’s my turn… you know that’s true. Why don’t you dumb it down for me baby? Why don’t you dumb it down for me girl? ‘cause I can tell you now that baby, baby I want you. Why don’t you dumb it down for me baby? Why don’t you dumb it down for me girl? ‘cause I can tell you now that baby, baby I want you. …and I want to see you…

The Sound of Breaking Hearts I woke up last night to the sound of breaking hearts. And it sounded like a million little wishes falling from the stars. Everybody’s missing someone you see so they’re playing in that symphony Making the sound of breaking hearts I woke up this morning to the feeling of falling in love And it felt like slipping off a ledge so high above Everybody’s waiting for that rush. Some people jump and some have to be pushed But they’re bound to fall in love ( “bridge” section) It’s shining on you like a white hot light. You look into it and your love goes blind It’s talking to you like a silver tongue. Makes you believe that you’re the only one. But in time you might know what it means to hear that sad , sad symphony Kept up all night by the sound of breaking hearts The crack and the snap of every single part Everybody needs somebody to be the one who saves them from that misery Deaf to the sound of breaking hearts. (counter melodies) Can’t you hear my heart breaking all this time that you’ve been keeping me waiting? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That’s the sound of breaking hearts.

Why didn’t you tell me? We were always thick as thieves Hanging around like kings and queens I always wanted you back then But you just went out with all of my friends so… Why didn’t you tell me that you loved me? Why do you tell me that now? Why didn’t you tell me that you want me When it’s much too late to turn back now. There was always you and me There was always some chemistry I kept giving you the eye But you kept me waiting on your reply So why didn’t you tell me that you loved me? Why do you tell me that now? Why didn’t you tell me that you want me When you know it hurts to know that now. (bridge) You were shy when I was advertising every single thing I had to give Now you’re realizing how it could have been Or should have been… ~solo~ We were always good together Right as rain or hellbent for leather I remember thinking later That it probably worked out for the better So why didn’t you tell me that you loved me? Why do you tell me that now? Why didn’t you tell me that you loved me? When we can’t do nothing about it now. When we can’t do nothing about it now….
